Determinant of a square matrix (like numpy.linalg.det).

Tensors up to 4 x 4 are expanded into scalar operations: additions and multiplications only, products with constant zeros are eliminated. Larger tensors and tensors created with packed=True are computed by a single array stencil: Gaussian elimination with partial pivoting. A singular matrix results in 0. Tensors of numbers are evaluated at trace time.
